Fashion. 1 word , 100 different meanings. “Fashion changes but style endures” -Coco Chanel. Fashion is a way to express yourself through your hair, clothes, and makeup.

At Dobie Jr. High, 2017-2018 school year there are a variety of different styles and people. They can range from students having cats on their shirts and wearing flannels to wearing off the shoulder shirts and bralettes (this is not allowed by dress code, by the way). Your style says things about who you are and what you think.

Some of the students at Dobie Jr High now enjoy wearing fanny packs. Two 8th graders, Camren Dake and Jacob Coppage said they wear them out of necessity, not style.  “They’re very convenient, I can carry my school supplies in them.”

If you would like to buy a fanny pack and be a part of the trend, you can get them from Academy, Walmart, and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

A trend that is totally adorable but totally out of dress code, are off the shoulder tops.

Adaiah Martinez, 8th grader, says she enjoys wearing them but makes sure it is pulled up while she is at school. “It’s one of my favorite things to wear. They’re cute, stylish, and trendy,” she said.

You can pair these shirts with bralettes and get the shirts themselves from American Eagle, Rue 21, Forever 21, Hollister , and Francesca’s.

Another  trend that has been around for a while is graphic tees. They’re cute,casual, and comfortable. You can get a wide variety of them from almost anywhere.

A trend for guys and girls are Polos. Polos come in different colors, patterns and styles.

Girls at Dobie Jr. High enjoy wearing polos with jeans and Sperrys. Guys enjoy wearing them with jeans, khakis, jean shorts and even basketball shorts. “Polos are cool and I think I look nice in them,” said Kobe Gonzalez. Polos can cost from $15 to $60.
