Fiscally Fit 5K One Mile Run scheduled for September 29

On September 29th in 7th period students received a flyer for a Fiscally Fit 5K one mile run. The event takes place on October 21st, at the Blue Bonnet Palace in Selma from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
Some Dobie students were asked if they were going and the majority said no, but the students that were going to the event said they’d go with their younger siblings. A 7th grader, Danielle Guest said, “I think it’s a fun thing to do with family and friends, and it’s nice to know it’s for a good cause.”
The event is a fundraiser to provide students in the SCUCISD district with the Junior Achievement Program. The flyer states, “Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.”
The race is also promoting to teach younger children about having a healthy lifestyle.
