Veterans honored during patriotic assembly

Dobie honored veterans during assemblies on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in a patriotic ceremony that honored current military and veterans.
Veterans who are parents of Dobie students spoke to students and teachers. Students also gave speeches. Veterans from the community attended as well.Assemblies were held during 7th and 8th periods.
The Dobie band and choir performed. Steele ROTC presented the colors.
Ti’miah Jackson-Allen, a 7th grader, said she listened to all of the speakers. “They had great speeches — they were all beautiful,” she said.
Trevon Parker, an 8th grader, said he enjoyed seeing parents and their students together during the assembly. “It was really fun to see people talk about their parents and their service,” he said.
Sophia Garza, 8th grader, said his favorite speaker was Nick’s mom. “She was a really good speaker,” she said.

I loved the pictures, especially the one including the whole choir! It could use a bit more detail, but other then that, great work!
