My 2017 Halloween started off with me going to school and staying after for the theater play that I was cast in as make-up. Because I had to stay late, I didn’t get home until around 7.

When I left the school to go home it was raining and my parents told me that I couldn’t go. Fortunately, my parents caved into to my begging and let me go, one reason being that all of my other friends were able to go.

Three of my friends and I had already made plans to meet with them at my friend, Jada’s, house at 7:30. When I got home, all I had to do was get my costume on because, lucky for me, I had already eaten dinner at the play.

After 30 minutes, I was finally at Jada’s house. Jada, one of my other friends, Isabel and I were waiting on Mia. Once Mia, came we left to go trick-or-treating!

While we trick-or-treating, my friends and I came upon our friend, Zaryah’s, uncle’s house. To our surprise her whole family was outside handing out candy so, we stopped and talked to them. After that, we continued on with our walk for candy.

My friends and I got a whole bunch of candy even though we went down only a few streets. We think the reason for this was because nobody expected a lot of people to go trick-or-treating because of the rain. Also, this Halloween was on a school night meaning not a lot of people would be out late.

When it was about 8:30, Mia and Isabel had to go. That left me and Jada about 15 minutes to get more candy. Since we had already hit every house within 5 minutes walking distance, Jada’s mom drove us to a cul-de-sac that was at the back of her neighborhood.

Once Jada and I got to the last house we got the whole entire bowl of candy! That made us both super happy because we were gonna stay at her house instead of going out again.

As we were pulling back up to Jada’s house, I saw my mom waiting outside for me. I said my good-byes and thank yous then went home.
