Personal view: What i’m thankful for

Carina Ethier, Staff Reporter

Thanksgiving, to me is one of the best holidays. It really gives me a chance to stuff my face with food and hang out with my wonderful friends and family. There are so many things i’m thankful for, like the fact that I have enough food on my plate and I can afford normal priced clothing.

The first thing I am thankful for is my friends and my family. If it weren’t for them I wouldn’t be where I am today, if it weren’t for them I wouldn’t have people to run to when I am stressed or upset. My family also helps get food on my plate. When me and my friends fight or something happens I know my family will be there. It’s the same with my friends, if my family is bothering me I can go to my friends for help.

The second thing I am thankful for is that I have everything I need. I know that some people don’t have things they need like a house, food, water, or even clothes. I am thankful for all of that even though it seems like I am not with all my first world problems. Some people don’t even have enough money to have a Thanksgiving or even visit their own family during this time of year. I am thankful that not only can I get the stuff that I need but stuff that I want.

The last thing I am thankful for is my life. There are many people around the world dying of many things. Some of them won’t even make it to thanksgiving. Some people end up dying because of their suffering. I am grateful for my surroundings and that I am perfectly healthy. I am thankful I can even have a thanksgiving. I am glad that my life is the way it is and that’s what i’m thankful for.
