Personal View: The true meaning of Thanksgiving

Aidiana Hernandez, Staff Reporter

Thanksgiving. To some people the first thing that comes to mind is turkey, mashed potatoes and gaining a lot of weight on one night. But when I think of  Thanksgiving I think of the people that I am very blessed to have in my life and the life I have been given.

I am first of all very thankful for all those around me, I am thankful for the people, friends and loved ones. Without them I would not be who I am till this day, I would not be where I am at this moment and I definitely would not be what I am in my life right now.

I first want to thank my mom, she bends over backwards and forwards for me every second, every day in her life. For a long period of time she was my mom and dad and she was so strong, invincible, she could fight through anything. She has helped me create a relationship with God, help me pursue my dreams, and help me become the strong, independent young lady I am today.

I am thankful for all of my family, friends and loved ones, they all help me get through the hardest times in life and I am truly blessed. I am blessed for the roof over my head, the parents I have, the clothes on my back, the food in my mouth and last but not least the incredible education I have been given.
