Personal view: My Thanksgiving traditions

Leah Parker , Staff Reporter

Hi my name is Leah and I am in 7th grade. Every year my family and I always have a Thanksgiving tradition. We always go to my dad’s grandparents house so we call nana and papa. Before we go to there house all of my family members all cook family meals for each of us to eat.

Once we get to there house we always gives hugs to everyone and get ready to have a feast. My family is very big so we have to use 3 full tables. Everyone eats together, and we talk about what we are thankful for. I am thankful for a lot of stuff. Some stuff that I am thankful for is that I have a house that I live in. I  have parents that can guide me to my future and more.

After we are done with the dinner we all go our separate ways. The younger kids go outside to play and the boys play with train tracks. The parents go ahead and talk about our year. While everyone goes their separate ways  the grandparents get out the dessert. We all get called inside to eat. While we are eating the dessert we also celebrate my nana and papa’s anniversary. Their anniversary is very close to Thanksgiving. After we have eaten our dessert we start heading out. We all give our hugs, kisses, and say our goodbyes. That is my family tradition.
