Personal View: What I’m thankful for
November 17, 2017
We celebrate thanksgiving not only to celebrate the first harvest the pilgrims had in the new world, but to embrace the family and friends were thankful for. Most people celebrate the holiday by having an abundance of food selections available for the people you’re celebrating with, but not everybody is so lucky.
I am thankful for so many things. To start, my family is such a huge part of my life. I didn’t grow up with the greatest childhood, but I didn’t quite notice that with the help of my family, and honestly I don’t know what I would do if they weren’t by my side. Even though my family isn’t always the easiest to handle, I still love them to the stars and back and i’m so blessed to be able to call them my family.
Another thing i’m grateful for is my friends. They are so supportive and so easy to talk to. When things aren’t going so great I know they will always be there to lift me back up or even be a shoulder to cry on. Basically all of my friends have great senses’ of humor and I can always count on them for giving me my daily ab workout.
Lastly I am grateful for the things I have. Not everybody is as blessed as me and get to have the everyday necessities. A lot of people aren’t even able to have as much food during Thanksgiving in an entire year. Sometimes I can take things for granted and not realize it, but celebrating Thanksgiving really helps open my eyes to the people that may not have as much. I hope that this Thanksgiving you’ll think about it too.
