Personal View: Thanksgiving is an Important Holiday

Paris Brooks, staff reporter

Thanksgiving is an opportunity to spend time with family, be grateful for things you are fortunate enough to have, eat lots of good home cooked food, etc. To some people, Thanksgiving is all about the food, but for me it’s different. To me, Thanksgiving is all about spending time with family and close ones. Here are some things that I am grateful for this Thanksgiving:

  1. First of all, I am thankful for my friends and family. This might seem like a cliché thing to say, but it is very true. My family provides almost all of the things that I am fortunate enough to have today. Food, shelter, and company make up only some of the things my family provides for me.
  1. Next, I am thankful for my friends. Although they can be a real pain in the butt sometimes, my friends are the best! My friends are constantly keeping me laughing, which im very thankful for. I don’t know what I would do without my friends to this day.

  1. Last of all, I am thankful for the life I am living today. People, especially now a days take everything for granted. Some take food, shelter, and even others for granted. I personally try to be as thankful as I can in all situations because of the sad life that others live.

In conclusion, Thanksgiving is an opportunity to visit close ones, and be thankful for things you’re fortunate enough to have. Although I mentioned only 3 things, I am grateful for so much more! This list makes up only some of the long list of things I am grateful for today, and will be grateful for in the future.
