To some, Christmas is all about the presents, but not to me. To me, Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus and spending time with my family. Although I like presents, I make it important to recognize the real reason Christmas is what it is today.

For me, the first part of Christmas comes in late November. During this time I begin decorating for the holiday to come! My favorite part about decorating is creating. I love to think of and create new ideas for Christmas decorations. This year so far I have made 2 wreaths, a tree topper, and helped around the house with other little things.  My mom is not the most creative, so most of the house decor comes from me.

After the decorations, there comes the food! During this time of year my family and I make so many different types of sweet treats. This year we have made everything from homemade red and green Rice Krispies to Christmas tree and snowman sugar cookies. This part of Christmas has to be one of my favorite, if not my favorite time of the winter season.  

Lastly, late December rolls in. During this time period, the Christmas magic finally starts to happen. Friends and family come over, presents are opened and food is eaten. I love to be able to see friends and family that I don’t normally get to see. I am looking forward to this Christmas experience.
