On February 14, 2018 there was a shooting massacre at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Killing 17 people and putting 14 others in the hospital for major and minor injuries.

We strongly believe that somebody who is mentally unstable shouldn’t of been able to get a hold on a gun, and if it weren’t for Trump signing a bill on February of 2017 it wouldn’t have been so easy for him to have a gun. As tragic as this event was, we need to be focusing on the real problem which is that our government is practically doing nothing to keep everyone safe.

First of all we think that school shooting is no joke, like people should really pay attention to what kids say in social media. Here is a quote from Nikolas Cruz saying ‘I’m going to be a professional school shooter.” Most people that saw this comment thought it was a joke ,but there is nothing funny about hurting someone.We need to be more aware about things that people post and think to ourselves, is this going to cause someone to be hurt, or is this a threat to me or someone else?

Mental illness had a big part in the latest school shooting in a florida high school, the shooters name was Nikolas Cruz and he had lost his mother before the shooting, and this is maybe why he shot that school. It should not be that easy for a person with mental issues to own a firearm, but its been easier ever since the bill that president Trump passed that made it easy for people with mental health  issues to have guns. Either way there is no excuse for him to even have a gun in the first place, and maybe the shooting could of been prevented.

In conclusion we want them do not worry about the boy who shot the school. We want them to make a way so that this thing can’t happen again. We want them to make sure that they create a way that kids don’t feel like they have to worry about a fellow classmate having a gun or if their safety is at risk at school. Start worrying about the real problem.
