Have school shootings caught your attention lately? School shootings are getting out of hand lately. According to Snopes.com there have been 18 school shootings since January 1st, 2018. These are killing the lives of children, teens, and teachers all around America.

We feel like people with mental health problems should not be able to buy any weapons, especially automatic guns that are used for military purposes. Honestly no one should be able to buy an automatic weapon for any reason.

Why shouldn’t mentally disabled people not be able to buy weapons? Well mentally disabled people shouldn’t have the authority to buy weapons, because they don’t have full control of their actions with mental problems. Also gun shops should not have the power to sell automatic weapons. A school shooting in Parkland Florida involving automatic rifles killed 17 victims. Some students some teachers. The shooter had a mental illness. These people should not have access to these very dangerous rifles.

Political figures say that it is not the time to talk about gun control, but gun control needs to be addressed. Guns are things that shouldn’t be in the hands of the wrong people. More school shootings and mass shootings are going to happen if action isn’t taken. Laws need to be placed to make it harder for people with mental health or any sort of criminal background to buy a gun.

To solve this problem, we need to put more effort in selling guns to the “right” people. We have to make laws more strict concerning the buying and possession of weapons. Guns are easily sold to anyone with a gun license and money. Mental health is also a big contributor to why there is a problem with gun control. To fix this problem, we need to make it harder for mentally disabled people to buy a gun, and not allow automatic guns to be sold.
