Vine is a video recording format in an app that allows you to record a 6 second video. Vine was created by Dom Hofmann,Rus Yusupov and Colin Kroll. Many people have become famous for doing this, some examples are Marlon Webb, Liza koshy, Logan Paul, DeStorm, and Piques.

These are people who are famous for their funny 6 second videos. Vine created a lot of challenges like Do it for the vine, Andy’s Coming, and Mannequin challenge. Due to the fact that this app has died many still have memories of their favorite vines and viners. We decided to interview some students and see if they can finish their close to heart vines.

Recently in January 17 of 2017 it was announced that Vine was being shut down. One of the reasons that it was is because vine could not compete with instagram. In 2013 instagram launched videos and vine never recovered from it the instagram featured users to allow to record 15 second videos which is a pretty big difference compared to the 6 second vine. Another reason is that advertisers just didn’t care for it. Since the videos where so short and snappy there wa never really any viability for advertisers to use vine. Vine just did make enough money for twitter.

Even though Vine has died the creators announced they were creating another one. Everyone is excited and we hope that everyone is ready for round 2!
