Choir Pop Concert
April 18, 2018
The choir students are working extra hard to create a mind blowing show for the students here at Dobie Jr. High. The show is going to stretch what most people would expect, instead of rap, or hip hop as most students would entice and enjoy, the choir kids are working on something a bit different.
Such as showing and rehearsing to a musical on the more latino/a side of faces. The Musical ”In The Heights” will be hitting Steele High Schools stage on May 22nd!
This musical has amazing songs such as “song name” that is uplifting and sure to bring the audience on their feet with a standing ovation. Students are excited for this and to get more insight Seth Pickrel and 8th grader and choir member was asked about how he felt about the show, “People should come because it’s going to be very cool”, said Pickerel.
When interviewed Choir director, Mr.C said “Don’t be the only one missing out on the show.. See you there” He spoke with pride and confidence in the Dobie choir and everyone helping out.
He then told us the musicals that wongs would be featuring in the concert. For example, not only will it be including songs for ‘In the heights”, but also broadway shows such as “Wicked”, “Hamilton”, “Dreamgirls” and “Jersey Boys”.
Arisza gonzalez another 8th grader and member of the choir said “We are getting a really well known choreographer”. She told us about what they were planning including all the dancing and singing they are already rehearsing for.
Dobie Jr. High Choir is working hard to make this a show we won’t forget and they would love for us all to be there to cheer them on, so stop by and watch what they have been working on, it will be fantastic.
