All students on the Dobie campus, and even others,have their favorite teacher. Dobie favorites range all the way from to coaches to our administration. I had my favorite teacher in every grade growing up. This year I am in the eighth grade and am in Pre-AP Algebra. I absolutely despise math. It’s my least favorite subject.

I came into the school expecting to hate that class like I hated my math class last year, but it was different. My teacher, Mrs.Hecox was there for me every step of the way. The first day I walked into her class she said, “Let’s get real, I know some of you hate math, and I can’t promise you will like it ever, but you will love this class.”

I’m going to be honest right now, I have struggled in algebra all year, but she helped understand and get my grades higher than they were originally. She not only pushed me, but all of her students. When it was time for the EOC, she told the class how much confidence she had in us and she believed in us.

She is an incredible teacher and has helped me a lot this year. Everyone can trust her with anything. I can talk to her about things going on in school and so can other students. Kids that were not even in her class liked her. I appreciate Mrs.Hecox very much and she is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had.
