Fall is here! 5 events in San Antonio
Autumn is the month of leaves, wind, coffee, and big sweaters. There are tons of things you can do in autumn, like staying inside and watching Netflix with your friends and family, or going out to the park without sweating a river or freezing to death.
Autumn is a beautiful season with many activities. But people usually do the same thing every year, “I usually have Thanksgiving, Watch T.V. , and spend time with my family during Autumn” said Aolani Earle, 8th Grader. But believe it or not there are a lot of things you can do right here in San Antonio!
- Chalk It Up is an annual festival where a company called Artpace closes Houston Street to cars so that people can come and have fun with chalk! Professional artists come to take part and families can draw things of their own in the “Make Zone.” This year, the festival will be held on Saturday October 8, 2016.(10am-4pm)
- Barktoberfest is an event where families can take their dogs to participate in hayrides, pumpkin painting, pet costume contests, and so much more. It’s fun for the whole family! This year it’s held on Sunday October 16th (12am-4pm) at the Animal defense league, 11300 Nacogdoches Rd.
- The Monarch Butterfly and Pollinator Festival is an awesome event where you can celebrate the beauty of the Monarch butterflies as they migrate through San Antonio. This year it will be held on Friday, October 21st (6pm-9pm) and Saturday October 22nd (10am-2pm) at The Historic Pearl, 303 Pearl Pkwy.
- The South Texas Maize is a 7 acre corn maze that opened September 17 and runs through November 30. One thing that makes this maize unique is the fact that when you first get there, you can pick a theme, and trivia questions following the theme help you find your way out!
- Cibolo Fest is an annual festival where you can go on carnival rides,
pony rides, to the petting zoo, car show, and so much more!
