Dear editor,

A current issue going on in our society is freedom of the press. In recent news, our 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump, has deemed the press as the enemy of the states.

That is not the case. The press brings light to current issues and shows people things that are happening around the world. For us to be shown as enemies is very disheartening and we want to change that. We want to show that we have freedom of the press, a voice to talk per say.

The first amendment should protect us reporters and give us the right to say what we want without ridicule from the government. This is why I find the importance in protecting what reporters want to say, and not deeming them as evil to society.
