The First Amendment is Important

Dear Editor,

The “Freedom Of The Press” means the right to print without censorship by the government. Americans enjoy the freedom of the press under the first amendment on the Constitution. Part of the the first amendment is that abridging the freedom of speech or the right of the people to assemble.

People in journalism have the right to publish during wars. They need to get the word out to everyone about what is going on in the world and they can ask for a change. Not everyone reads or listens to the news

The press is very important because if we did not have the press many journalists around the United Stats these occurrences to make the point that preventing members of the press from doing their job puts democracy at risk. You would not be able to keep up with everything in the world. Many journalists and civil-liberties advocates highlighted these occurrences to make the point that preventing members of the press from doing their job puts democracy at risk.
