Dear Editor,

The U.S. Constitution states the following “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” This means that U.S. citizens are allowed to say almost anything they want. As such so is the press, but they don’t.

The press tell the truth to the best of their ability and back it up with facts. This is why trump calling them the enemy of the people isn’t fair to them. They only inform the people and any information they get a hold of is at their disposal. If trump has a problem with how or what the press is reporting he should be more diplomatic about it. Trump needs to grow up and if he has an issue stop going and tweeting  it on social media. If anything it just makes the situation worse and it makes him look bad.

Sincerely,

Katlyn Thomas
