Veterans Day to me is celebrating the end of  World War One. My father is ex-military so my family always celebrates this day. I have always thought it was for honoring veterans. This day is also for honoring dead veterans. Veterans Day is very important to me and my family.

I was still a baby when he was in the army, and he was almost blown up by a bomb. My Mom told me the story because i was still too young to remember anything. So we celebrate that he’s still alive. That’s why Veterans day is so important to my family.

“Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938.”said History.com.https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/veterans-day-facts
