PV: Social Media Controls The Youth

Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, Tik Tok, Houseparty. All Social Media platforms and a place where predators are everyday.

Social Media doesn’t affect me because, I personally haven’t been cyber bullied, harassed or had a bad experience on social media causing me to hate, or dislike the following apps.

On Social Media influencers or popular and famous people, talk a lot about the news like gun violence. Influencers like the Kardashians, always talk and tweet about the things going around the world. Instagram and Snapchat is what our youth use these days, because they’re easy to access.

Usually on any social media you have to be eighteen  and older, but when they ask you to put in your age everyone lies, and enters an age old enough to be able to have all of the qualities of the app. I remember when I first got Snapchat, I entered my actual age and I was restricted,so then the next time around I entered a older age.

Most kids between the age of thirteen to eighteen  don’t have Facebook, because its an app for older people, parents catching up with relatives and posting about family. I think that Facebook isn’t as bad as the other sites speaking of predators because, mostly older people like our parents use the app.

I’ve done a Social Media break last summer, because I felt like I didn’t need it in my life. I think it’s good to do it during the school year, because I can focus more on school and studying.
