Around 500-600 songs are released per day, but still sometimes we can’t find a song that we like. So, why not take a chance and trust your peers?

According to the ITunes top charts the two most popular songs are Closer by the Chainsmokers ft. Halsey and Heathens by Twenty One Pilots.

The duo Twenty One Pilots has blown up after the April 28,2015 worldwide YouTube release of their hit song Stressed Out. Some students like Alexandra Payne, eighth grade, discovered the duo through friends and said that when she listens to Twenty One Pilots she can “feel like someone understands.” Others like Kolbie Chase, eighth grade, discovered them from their YouTube suggestions.

If you like Indie Pop then why not give Twenty One Pilots a listen. A song by Twenty One Pilots that Chase said makes her happy is Holding onto you.

Chase also said that the music she listens to makes her feel,” Like I have a purpose when I’m really down.’’

Valeria Gonzales, eighth grader, said that she enjoys listening to very funky and dance able music.

“It makes me feel like I’m living in another life and I feel powerful and emotional,” Gonzales said. Some of her favorite artists are Queen, Coldplay, and The Cure and her favorite song at the moment is Let Down by Radiohead.

It’s no doubt that people listen to music for all different reasons. If you’re feeling stressed or anxious why not try listening to artist like The Beatles, Mariah Carey, Melanie Martinez, and Stevie Wonder. These artist typically help Michelle Danglade, eighth grade, when she is stressed. A song that Danglade said helps her relieve stress is Valerie by Amy Winehouse.
