Dear Editor,
Journalists all around the world are not appreciated enough for the work that they do.According to a Boston Globe editorial, President Donald Trump said, “Journalists are not classified as fellow Americans, but the enemy of the people.”
The Freedom of the Press is important because it gives the right to circulate opinions in written form without any say by the government. Free speech and free press allow individuals to get information from a variety of sources that are not dictated or restricted by the government, so that the people can make decision, develop opinions, and discuss their views to the government by voting, gathering, protesting, and sharing ideas. The Freedom of the Press is the first amendment to the United States Constitution.
It prevents Congress from making any law upholding an establishment of religion, the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the right to peacefully assemble or to petition for a governmental redress of grievance. Journalist are people who write for newspapers and magazines, or news websites or prepares news to be broadcast to the public.
The function of a journalist is to inform the public about what is going on in the world, and to guide the public eye.

i think that journalists shouldn’t be treated unfairly because they are allowed to express their opinions and give feedback about information. I think it is important to give feedback and inform the public about information.
