2019 Teacher of the year, Mrs. Derese

Teacher of the year is appreciating the teachers who works the hardest, enjoy what they do and are the most dedicated to their job. Teachers are not only underappreciated by their pay, but also help guide students and teach them no matter the differences. Teachers dedicate their lives to teaching the future and helping kids find what they’re passionate about.
This year’s teacher of the year at Dobie is Mrs.Derese, a special education teacher, Mrs. Derese has been teaching at Dobie for two years. Mrs Derese is very dedicated. Teachers, students and parents she is beyond helpful and kind to her students and coworkers.
“Not only is Mrs. Derese a great teacher who deserves teacher of the year,” she. Mrs. Derese She is is a teacher who cares deeply for her students, and she is very dedicated. She Who takes time to make her students feel welcome and she is. Mrs.Derese is a very hardworking and, understanding.
Her colleagues say that she is a and kind teacher who and truly deserves teacher of the year. “The compassion and dedication she shows to her students is amazing,” Mrs. Kelli Odom, assistant to Dobie Principal Mr. Simmons, said in an email.
“Mrs. Derese was inspired to aspire to a career in education from a very young age”. “I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was in third grade. I had the most amazing teacher,” said Derese. “I have just always kids and working with them,” said Derese.
At Dobie each Spring, teachers must nominate Teacher of the Year and all teachers who are nominated are placed on a ballot for voting. The teacher who gets the most votes receives the honor. “I was shocked because I have only been teaching at Dobie for two years. It was very nice to see family and administration supporting me,” said Derese.
Not only is Mrs. Derese a great teacher who deserves teacher of the year, she is also one of the leaders of Dobie’s new Sunshine Committee that coordinates feel-good activities and treats for teachers to help keep up morale.
