How to Enjoy Your Year – My Plan for the 2019-2020 School Year

Lee Akers, Staff Reporter

Hello, my name is Lee Akers. I am an 8th grader at Dobie Junior High School. My plan for the year is simply to enjoy it while it lasts. Next year I will be shipped away to the horrid and utterly putrid time of life known as high school. Henceforth my iron resolve; I shall reclaim my life from the clutches of sadness and anger; I shall not stand for the abhorrent torment that negative emotions have wrought upon me with their existence. This year, I plan to live my short life to the fullest.

To begin, I will confide upon you my plan to absolute and unbridled elation. First, I will do all of my work. No late assignments means good grades, and good grades signify a high GPA. Second, I will attend all social gatherings. After all, what is joy if you celebrate in solitude? The third and final step is to bask in the limelight a little; on occasion, I get humble and embarrassed when someone mentions one of my accomplishments, but I want to learn to love it.

This year I plan to have the time of my life. I will accomplish this by being punctual, social, and confident. By improving myself I improve my feelings and also my opinions on civilization. Hopefully my time on this plane of existence will be long and euphoric. My plan may be only for this year, however I believe it to be a trial period of sorts; by integrating it into my life, I could simply adopt this plan as my personality. To conclude, I offer words of wisdom; who are you if you don’t even know who you are yourself?
