My Trip To Galveston

Hi, my name is Gavin Kitts and I’m an 8th grader at Dobie Jr. High School. This Summer I went to Galveston with my mom, dad, and sister. My parents told us we were going about a month before Summer started. I was pretty hyped, but my sister didn’t really care. When the time came, we drove a total of four hours. The first trip we took was two hours then we stopped at a hotel and stayed there for the night.

The next morning we continued to the actual hotel and I slept for the majority of that ride. But when I woke, I smelled the ocean water and saw the coolest beach town I’ve ever been to. Usually if we go to the beach, we go to Corpus Christi so it was a very new experience aside from the fact that I’ve never been to Galveston. When we got to the hotel and opened the car door, I saw the beach with the ships and the oil rigs in the distance.

The first thing I wanted to do was eat so, we went to a seafood restaurant that had two stories, but was very pact. I ordered grilled and seasoned shrimp with fries and ketchup that I completely chowed down. After we were finished, we went back to the hotel and swam in the pool and hung out in the hot tub. Later during the late afternoon, we went to the beach during high tide and  searched for crabs and even caught some small white ones that are really fast. We then later slept and got ready to go to the beach far from the hotel that was an “actual beach” as my dad said. And that was my trip at Galveston. Thank you for reading my experience at this wonderful Summer getaway.
