My 2019-2020 Goals

My+2019-2020+Goals

Halle Allen, Staff Reporter

Hey, my name is Halle Allen. I am an 8th grader at Dobie Junior High School. This is my second year here, it’s been okay it would be better if I had less homework though. My goals for this year are to have fun with my friends and finish my service hours for NJHS ( National Junior Honor Society).

The reason I want less homework is because I have all Honors classes, and if I get a little bit of homework from each class it can add up quite a bit and I can barely get a breather. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have soccer practice and every morning I have to wake up at 5:15 to be on time for Cross Country, which really doesn’t leave any time to relax too much. Also because i have Honors classes it’s slightly more difficult to keep my grades up enough to be in NJHS.

Being part of NJHS looks good on a resume, but in order to stay in NJHS its required to do 30 hours of community service. 30 hours sounds like a lot so it’s my goal to finish it before it is due. Mr. Patel said it isn’t as hard as it sounds and that there will be plenty of opportunities to finish my hours.

The goal that I believe I’ll enjoy the most is simply to have fun with my friends. Me and my friends are already looking forward to fall, a lot we cannot wait to be able to wear big soft sweaters and not die of heat stroke. My personal favorite holiday is Halloween, and we are already thinking up fun plans for Halloween.

Those are my goals for this school year. I think I am going to have some fun this year and I hope to you as well. Have a nice year, Halle Allen.
