My Summer

My Summer
Hello. My name is Tatiana Nabozny. I am an 8th grader at Dobie Jr. High, and I’ll be telling you about my summer of 2019.
I spent most of my summer in the Philippines with my mom and my cousins. My mom and I spent about 19 hours to get to our final destination, in Iloilo City. We spent our time in my mom’s house, which is pretty big. There’s a couple small shuttle buses in the community, that picks and drop of people on their street or at the nearby mall. One time me and my cousin would go to the mall by ourselves and go shopping for snacks. And hide it from my mom then watch Netfiles on my laptop.
Since my cousins have school during my summer vacation, I would hang out with 1 of my other cousins and sometimes with my aunt. My cousins would teach me some words in Tagalog. Because I’ll always wonder what they say, but I feel like I could understand them in a way. I haven’t seen my family mom’s side since 2 years ago, my mom and I try to visit them every 2 years if we can, while my dad and sister are busy with work or college.
But my favorite part of going to the Philippines is seeing my family of course, eating more filipino food, and traveling to different islands. I’ve been to 4 different islands this summer. I went to Manila, which is the capital of the Philippines. Also Iloilo, Aklan, and Boracay. Me and my mom would go to different islands just to see my family and that was my highlight of my whole summer, having fun and seeing my loved ones and I couldn’t be any happier. And that’s why I love to make so much more memories by traveling the world.
