Outside of school sports help inside of school
October 24, 2019
Many students play sports in school and play club sports outside of school. So, what effect does that have on their in-school physical activities? Multiple Dobie Jr. High athletes were asked about their skills and asked if out of school sports help with their skills.
Javon Toliver, an 8th grader, said he plays basketball in multiple leagues outside of school. He recently played in a tournament and won. “I don’t really need to practice outside of school sports, because I would be good anyways,” Toliver said.
Micaiah Hubbard, a 7th grader, said she plays volleyball in and outside of school. She says that it sometimes affects her sleep. “It only affects sleep when I get home late,” said Hubbard.
Jacie Horn 8th grader does wrestling outside of school. She never works out during school, but she does work out after school and every weekend. “When I work out I mainly focus on my leg strength. So I mainly run.” Jacie said.
The students who do workout after school seem to perform just as well at the ones who don’t workout after school. So maybe after school workouts aren’t that necessary, but most people agree that working out outside of school would be worth it in the long run. You can stay fit and active while also having fun.
People who do sports both in and outside of school are staying physical and taking care of their body. Both ways are beneficial to them, it’s always up to personal preference. In the end, people will always do what is best for them.

I find this article is very fascinating because of how students who work out in school get just as healthy or fit as the people who workout out of school, I really thought otherwise so it is surprising to me. I really like how a lot of people had similar opinions in this article.

I think that the article is interesting and that the students work out inside and outside of school. I personally work out inside and outside of school, so this says that I will never stop doing what I love and that even though I’m not the strongest kid in the school.`

This is helpful because it shows that we have a choice to stay in fit in and out of school we don’t have a excuse not to stay healthy.

I think that if you play sports outside of school it can confuse you because different coaches have different methods and forms of teaching. Outside of school sports can affect their sleep because they get home really late and have to wake up early for school.

I found that it helps the teachers/parents understand how tired we can be with doing other sports

I think that being in athletics is an honor and being in a sport outside of school can help in sports inside of school.
