Personal View: How to stay in shape during quarantine
You may be wondering how you can stay in shape for whatever sport that you are playing throughout this long quarantine. So i’m going to give you a few different ways that you can do so without having to leave your house and go to different gyms.
Now first, I personally workout every other day. Which includes running on a treadmill for at least a mile, 25 steps on each leg, 15 bench presses, 15 squats, 25 lunges, 15 arm curls on each arm, 10 push ups, 15 sit ups, 15 up down planks, and I do three sets of all of those workouts to finish with that part.
Then later in the day when it cools off, I go play basketball or do specific drills my dad has me do as well as go running or walking with my dog and mom sometimes. But everyone is at different places when it comes to being active, and the amount of work to have a “good workout” differs for everyone so there is no need to try and make your personal workout similar or identical to mine.
Instead of the things that I do though, if you don’t have weights or a treadmill you can still get a good workout by just simply being creative. Some of my examples of that would be running up and down stairs, using different groceries to make makeshift weights, and still doing pushups and sit ups.
Staying in shape isn’t only about working out though. It also includes watching what you eat and eating healthy in general. You can still eat like normal but just try not to eat just because you are bored, or stressed out. If you do that I guarantee you that you will start feeling more energized throughout your day, and that can help you have enough energy which leads me to my next topic.
You also HAVE to be determined to workout and stay active. Because just talking about what you are going to do, and actually doing it are two different things. You have to be fully engaged and energized in what you are doing because no matter what you do, if you are giving half effort or not going your hardest then you aren’t benefiting yourself.
Now if you haven’t been working out but you want to get in shape I highly advise that you ease yourself into it. Because I know you’d want to go all out and get in shape as quick as possible but you can’t rush it. You would be putting your body at risk of injury because your body takes time to adjust to working out, especially if you haven’t been doing so before. Just take your time and day by day you can increase what you were doing before to build up all your muscles and stamina.
As long as you do those things you will stay in shape over this long quarantine. Stay safe everyone!!!
