J. Frank Dobie Jr. High School acquires Stop the Bleed Kits for every classroom
J. Frank Dobie Jr. High School has acquired Stop the Bleed Kits for every classroom. “I am so excited and proud that we as a team were able to make this happen!” said Dobie School Nurse Marsha Mudge, R.N.

The effort to purchase the 85 Stop the Bleed Kits was a joint effort by Schertz- Cibolo Universal City ISD’s J. Frank Dobie Jr. High School and Schertz EMS. Grants were provided by Wal-Mart.
“This is so exciting! It’s such a huge step for us to be prepared if a disaster happens at our campus,” Mudge said.
All Dobie teachers participated in Stop the Bleed training led by Schertz EMS earlier in the school year. They learned how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively.
May 21 is National Stop the Bleed Day.
“Hopefully we will never need to use these kits, but it’s our priority to make Dobie as safe as possible for our students. We are proud of Nurse Mudge for her hard work in acquiring these kits and the support of our community,” said Dobie Jr. High Principal Vernon Simmons.
