Sweat is dripping down your forehead. Your heart is practically beating out of your chest. The camera is pointed at you. It’s all or nothing now, no going back… “And curtain!”
The performance is one night only — November 1. The parts have been chosen and after school rehearsals on Monday- Thursdays have begun.
I got the part of “The Wicked Witch of the West” and let me just say, it is an honor. I can’t wait to show Dobie how “wicked” I can be. Dorothy better sleep with one eye open, and her little dog too!
The Wizard is also a big role that is played by Maia “MJ” Reyes, an 8th grader. “I am the wizard and am really excited and happy about this role because it’s major and I get to go back to being busy! I love being busy!” Reyes said.
Beatrice “Bea” Cuellar, an 8th grader, is a guard and an Oz citizen. “I do not like that I do not have any lines but I like that I have a lot of stage time!” she said.
Since we have only just started rehearsals we have just begun to meet each other, but I can tell that by the end of this not only will this be a great show but some great friendships will come out of it!
