Students may be feeling the chill, but it’s nowhere close to how cold it gets in other places. In Texas, the weather is rarely below 30°F, according to U.S. Climate Base.  

The average high temperature for Texas is 79.8°F and Texas ranks first in tornado occurrence with an average of 139 per year.Significant floods have occurred across the state throughout history. Texas’ weather varies widely, from arid in the west to humid in the east. And in this state there are countries where all of the weather good and bad happens to. 

”The best thing about the weather in Texas is That we can go swimming almost any day,” said Naujannette H. 

There are also some downsides to the weather in Texas. Droughts since the 50s have been a lot shorter, however. A severe drought in 2007 ended abruptly in 2008.Severe storms ramped up in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex this year. Also, 10 twisters have been confirmed by the National Weather Service. Eight were rated EF0, while one near Lake Brownwood was an EF1, as was one near Kenner, Louisiana, the lowest levels on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. According to EFS for Tornado Danger.

The Enhanced F-scale still is a set of wind estimates (not measurements) based on damage. Its uses three-second gusts estimated at the point of damage based on a judgment of 8 levels of damage to the 28 indicators listed below. These estimates vary with height and exposure.

The 3 second gust is not the same wind as in standard surface observations. Standard measurements are taken by weather stations in open exposures, using a directly measured, “one minute mile” speed.

In Nebraska the Weather is rarely above 90°F. According to Weather base the average high temperature is in July and it would be 87.3°F. The overall high temperature of Nebraska is  61.8°F and their average low temperatures 40.3°F

“Although I live here in Texas, I would have to say that I like Nebraska weather much better than I like Texas weather,” said Julie H., who is originally from Omaha Nebraska.

Casohn Grant from Kingsborough Community College said, “The weather in New York is actually not that bad. It just takes a little time to get used to.”

The weather in New York is 40॰F. This week the highest the temperature will get is 54॰F. New York received light snow most of last week and lower temperatures then this week.      

According to current results, the average yearly snowfall for Columbus, Ohio is 27.5 inches of snow for 30.4 percent of their days.
