Basketball season off to a good start

Dobie basketball season is off to a good start with them winning most of their games.

Most students don’t usually go to the basketball games because they don’t have the money to go but some go to cheer the Dobie Cougars on. The coaches for 7th grade are Coach Burton and Coach Driffill. The coaches for 8th grade are Coach Harper, Coach Gamboa, and Coach Lancaster.

Most of the players on the basketball team are the kids who played football. Some of their players are the kids who are in P.E. who have been waiting to play basketball all through football Makayla Franklin says she “likes watching basketball with her dad sometimes ”but she doesn’t really follow the games”.

The basketball team is practicing their passing, 3 pointers, free throws, and their teamwork. They are getting good and are working as hard as they can to destroy everyone in their way and make their way to victory.

The team usually practices between 3:30 to 5:00 all through the week except Saturday and Sunday. The team is going to play Church hill on January 19th,2017. On January 26,2017 Boerne South. On February 2nd they are playing Smithson Valley. On February 9th they are playing Oak Run and On February 16th they’re playing New Braunfels.

The boys have practice every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30-5:00 and the girls have practice on the same days as the boys but theirs is at 6:15 a.m.
