The Sickness that’s Spreading throughout Dobie- The Flu

Abigail Maynor, Staff Reporter

Sunday, January 8 2017. That was the day my cousin was born. She was born early in the morning, the time, 7:37 am. We went to the hospital approximately 12 in the afternoon, and left probably around 3. That day was also the day I got sick. It started with my throat, it was sore and just didn’t feel right.

A sickness is usually passed on by touching others, and sneezing or coughing on/by other people. If your body temperature is higher than normal, or you have symptoms you usually don’t on a normal day, it is probably best to stay home.

I thought about going to school, but my mom said that I need to stay home. The next day, it was the 10th of January. I was actually starting to feel better. I was eating more, and moving around more. Exercising if you can is also a healthy choice to do.

On Wednesday was when me and my mom went to the doctor. By the time it was over, it was around 12:30 and my ears were hurting,(we found out I got an ear infection) so I decided to stay home one more day. If unfamiliar symptoms occur, go to the doctor as soon as possible.

If you are well enough to walk around do things you do on a regular basis, it is smart to go back to school. I ended up going back to school on friday, sighing when picking up the work that I had missed, knowing it would take forever to finish.
