The Nintendo Switch is an upcoming video game console developed by the Nintendo brand itself, and the company’s seventh major home game console. Originally known in development as the NX (Nintendo X), it was officially unveiled on October 20, 2016 and is scheduled for release worldwide on March 3, 2017.

   The Switch is considered by Nintendo as a Hybrid game console. It is a console inserted into the docking system of a TV and used as a game controller, but can easily switch into its own handheld  game-pad and screen when desired. It was designed to appeal to the many different types of gamers through multiple modes of use. It can travel with you because of its small size. 

“I think its cool , because it shows how smart Nintendo is becoming, but I’d really only pay like, twenty bucks for it,” says Luna Silver, 6th grader. Nintendo has been working on this for quite some time, teaming up with other to make the Nintendo Switch a reality, and it costs around three hundred dollars in the U.S..

New Nintendo Switches most notable value is its wireless controllers, called a Joy-Con, which can detach and reconnect to your desire. They can become like the Wii remote and sense motion, or you can simply attach the controllers to the console for handheld play.

“I don’t care how they make the Nintendo switch thing, as long as I can play Pokemon sun and moon,” said Silver. With over one hundred game titles in development for this new system, many people will be lining the corners, dying to get their hands on one.
