why people rarely go to the movies

Have you ever went to the movie theaters and it ended up being almost completely empty. Many people have their reasons on why from the prices to the location movie theaters aren’t always the best choice. Not only does the drive take forever but when it is full so does the wait!
The movie theater was invented on June 19th, 1905 by Harry Davis, and John P. Harris, it became very popular at the time because it was the first place the show films all day long. Nowadays the movies are very underestimated because of DVD’s. When you buy a DVD it is something you can watch over and over at a time in the comfort of your own home and you don’t have to pay for the people watching it! Kaitlynn Dority, 7th grader says she would rather buy the DVD because she is in the comfort of her own home. Although most people don’t like to spend money for the movies, Aylene Rainey 7th grader thinks otherwise,”I would go to the movies because I get to go somewhere and I’m not at my house more space for me.” Some like Rainey are on the same page they go to the movie theater just to get out of there house. Not only that but Rainey also likes the fact that there is sometimes a lack of people at the movies.
The prices on average it cost $12 per person 13+ and $9 for kids 12 and under. According to Theatrical Market Statistics, more than two-thirds of the U.S./Canada population (69%) or 235.3 million people – went to the cinema at least once in 2015, a 2% increase in the number of moviegoers from 2014.”Movies are too expensive to me,” said Mikas Padilla, “people don’t really go to the movies anymore.” Dority says the concessions only have some snacks, but if she is home she could just go to the gas station and get what she wants there.
Not only is it the costs or alternatives to the movies but it’s also the surroundings while you’re watching the movie. When you’re watching a movie in the theater have you ever heard a baby crying or someone snoring? When you’re trying to pay attention to the movie the noises coming from others distracts you from actually watching the movie you payed for!
In conclusion, people are paying to see a movie, it may be too expensive, or distracting, but it is your choice whether you would like to wait for the DVD or go to the theatres
