There is a lot of hate and crime in this world and most of it has been linked to racism. Racism has impacted the world from slavery to separate bathrooms. Now racism has gotten a little bitter since the 1900’s but now it’s coming back stronger.
There have been many reports of police officers over using their power on people especially on African Americans and Hispanics like on April 12,2015 a 25 year old Freddie Gray a black man died in police custody after the police thought he had a illegal switchblade. People have said that the police had beaten him up so much he fell into a coma and later on died and he is still unjustified.
After this everybody was furious and started to boycott but then after this more and more incidents have happened with African Americans. This has a lot of African Americans furious and scared for their lives. After all of this the term “Black Lives Matter” started showing up everywhere and being used for boycotting and just to show that they shouldn’t be killed for any reason. What about the term “All Lives Matter” should not every life live? Moneay Robinson an 8th grader a to Dobie Junior High says,“Yeah because that I care about is peace and love.”
The presidential campaign has affected all this to like Donald J. Trump one of the candidates has been making discriminating comments to Mexicans/Hispanics, African Americans.
“I’m not racist. I just know when a black guy like Obama does better in life than a rich white guy like me. “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best… They’re bringing drugs ,they’re bringing crime, and some, I assume, are good people” all said by Donald J. Trump. Tmani Mullins a 7th grader at Dobie Junior High says,“If Trump becomes president he’s just going to make all of this racism worse!”
Racism is getting out of hand with police brutality and people making racist comments like it’s nothing. We can’t live in a world that were to scared to go outside and be afraid for our lives being taken or taken for granted by people who are suppose to protect us or even the person who is supposed to make our country great again. We have to try to fix this little by little to a city to a state next thing is the whole country.
