The holly jolly Christmas break is near

Decorations for Halloween have come down and decorations for Christmas are on display. That could only mean that Christmas and New Year’s holiday break is coming up quick.

Dobie students are off school December 19 – January 2 and also January 3 for a teacher’s workday. Excitement is building about the holiday.

“I haven’t decorated yet, but my sister set up the tree when I was asleep,” said Lakey.

Others will decorate soon.

“I haven’t decorated yet but we’re gonna decorate this Saturday,” said Chagoya.

“I feel like it’s gonna be ‘litty’ cause I’m gonna have fun but sad cause I might not see my friends,” said Lavonya Lakey, 8th grader.

“I’m so happy and excited and I just can’t hide it!” said Jessica Chagoya, 8th grader.

“I’m happy that I don’t have to come to school to see all these annoying teachers,” said Jalen Walker, 8th grader.

For Christmas break, some might have plans and others might not. Chagoya plans on just staying in with family.

“We’re not allowed to go out on holidays,” said Chagoya.

“My mom was talking about going to New York and shopping and staying in a nice five star hotel but we’re not sure yet,” said Lakey.

“Christmas makes me really happy that everyone is smiling and saying, ‘Merry Christmas’ and seeing everyone happy and in a good mood,” said Lakey.

“It’s a good spirit, everyone gets along and you get new stuff, Hooray!” said Chagoya.

After Christmas day, Dobie Cougars have nine more days of break to relax and enjoy no school. “I might go to New York but if not I’ll just be chillin’ with some friends,” said Lakey.

“I’ll probably just hang out with some friends, do some wild stuff,” said Chagoya.

“I’m just gonna sleep, go to they gym, and hang out with my girlfriend,” said Walker.
