Valentine’s Day in Dobie Junior High

May 25, 2017
February 14th is a special date for couples out there, and it actually makes people happy on that day. People all around the world celebrate this holiday ever since they were kids in schools
One student at Dobie Junior High, Victor Maupin 8th grade, said “My plans for valentine’s is to have a fantastic day!” “Just as it’s meant to be”, Maupin added.
It originated as a Western Christian liturgical feast day celebrating love and affection. By dating and sending gifts, people smile everywhere you go. Common symbols of Valentine’s Day are hearts, red roses and Cupid.
Common Valentine’s Day gifts are flowers chocolates, candy, lingerie and champagne or sparkling wine. However, some people use the occasion to present special gifts, such as jewelry. Many restaurants and hotels have special offers at this time which can include romantic meals or weekend breaks.
Valentine’s is meant to be a day of affection and happiness between one and one’s partner. Students at Dobie Junior High have had Valentine’s also. Mapuin said, “My valentine is Katalina Montez!” And seeing Victor happy as a reporter is great on this special day.
Get struck by cupid and happy Valentine’s Day!
