The fact that teachers give too much homework is stressful and over pressured. Kids should have a good amount of homework, not three times the amount they should have.
According to the Chicago Tribune, less stress can improve school performance. Yet, the word “stress” is heard often among the conversations of teens.
Professors say that the source of stress is sleep deprivation and health issues, and it takes no genius to know that the source of those problems is homework overload.
Lack of sleep and health could also have a negative impact on school performance. During class, it is not uncommon to see students resting their heads on their arms with their eyes shut. Every adult knows that lack of nutrients would result in lack of concentration.
Therefore, students with more homework would have a hard time concentrating during school. All in all, one can conclude that more work at home means less work achieved at school, which is the exact opposite that parents expect from their children.
If we truly want our students to have strong families, then we need to not take up all their family time with homework. And, yes, I know that for lots of students it’s the TV that’s their companion at night instead of their parents. But that’s not how it is with all the students.
There are definitely families out there who want to relax together in the evening but simply cannot do so because the kids are entrenched with homework
Children have a lot to learn about life, even going on into the rest of their lives but even more so at an early age. The pressure brought onto kids about completing homework is often too much and not measured by the student so much as by the competition.
Keeping these things at a competitive level is disproportionate to what the student can handle, often resulting in behavioral problems with the school and the family.
