STRANGER THINGS

Stranger Things  is a Netflix’s original that was released July 15,2016.  The first thing that might have caught your eye if you watched it would be the title.  The title is very unique and it kinda makes you just want to watch it to see what it’s about.  Yes, it has a whole summary but sometimes they aren’t so good so you have to look for yourself by watching the first episode for a couple of minutes.  Stranger Things only has one season with 8 episodes but they are long so it’s kinda worth it.

This show takes place in a fictional city called Hawkins, Indiana.  The year this show takes place is in 1983.  The Duffer brothers developed the series as a mix of investigative drama alongside supernatural elements with childlike sensibilities.

Stranger Things is an American science fiction-horror television series created by the Duffer brothers.   Season one is about looking for `Will’ that went missing, after coming across a mysterious beast outside of the Hawkins National Laboratory.  Joyce(Winona Ryder) his mom believes that Will(Noah Schnapp) her son if trying to communicate with him threw the lights on the wall because every time she went into his room and cried the lights would flicker so she thought it was Will trying to communicate with her.  Everyone thinks she was going crazy because they didn’t believe her.  The other half of the show is finding out what took him.

Eleven(Millie Bobby Brown) is a major character in the first season and season two coming up.  Eleven was born with many psychokinetic gifts she was raised and experimented on in Hawkins National Laboratory.  After she ran away from the lab she was found by Mike(Finn Wolfhard),Lucas(Caleb McLaughlin), and Dustin(Gaten Matarazzo).   They soon found out about her psychokinetic powers and thought she could help them find Will, their missing friend. Later on in the show it is revealed that in a lab experiment she made contact with a monstrous creature from another dimension, accidentally opening an inter-dimensional gateway.  She eventually faced the monster and destroyed it in Hawkins Middle School and mysteriously vanishing in the process of destroying the monster.  

This is a great show many people might like it because it is really mysterious and thrilling. “Stranger Things is an awesome show I like how it is so mysterious and you just want to keep watching it,” said Savannah Castillo, 8th grader.
