The Dobie 8th grade boys Track team has gotten off to a good start by winning meets at Steele, Alamo Heights, and Clemens during the months of March and April.

“My personal record for 100 meter Hurdles is 15.39 seconds,” said Brian Bondoc, 8th grader.

Bondoc runs both the 100 and the 300 meter Hurdle events and also competes in the Triple Jump. Bondoc has also made every track meet this year including both district meets. Bondoc’s favorite event is the 100 meter Hurdles.

“My personal record in Discus is 152 feet and my personal record for the 4×100 meter relay is 45.83 seconds,” said Wyatt Begeal, 8th grader.

Begeal runs the 4×100 meter relay with three other track athletes, and this combo has won every single 4×100 meter relay. Begeal’s favorite events are Discus, the 4×100 meter relay, and long jump. Begeal shined as the Quarterback for the Dobie “A” football team this year and he says that track is just another way for him to improve in the offseason.

The Dobie 8th grade boys track team placed 2nd in district while breaking the school record for the 4×400 meter relay at the district meet.
